How Rachel Hollis Became A Self-Improvement Guru

For the past couple of months, Rachel Hollis has been waking up at 6 am and pressed the FB live button to tune in with her audience of 700k. Her company, The Chic Site, has evolved from a lifestyle website to a platform that empowers women to pursue their dreams amid life’s chaos. This is what Hollis is all about.

She’s a the author of The Girls series trilogy plus a cookbook, has a business podcast, organizes a two day conference for women and helps brands connect with their audience in more authentic ways. All this while being a wife and a mother of four, one of which is still a baby.

So when Hollis does a live stream called “Stop feeling sorry for herself” from her kitchen, half asleep, hair in a messy bun, people listen.

One thing that transpires through all her videos?

A willingness to face her biggest fears.

“Right now, in this moment, I’m my own hero,” she says. “I had pushed myself to do something I never thought I was capable of and it lit a fire in my own soul.” That fire Hollis talks about? It lives inside of all of us, she says. “I encourage you to look around and choose a wish your heart makes so that you too will have the opportunity to be your own hero. Every girl, even the princesses, should feel that kind of pride.”

Hollis is the first to admit that the road to a great life is paved with limiting beliefs. (“I’m not smart enough,” “I’m not young enough” etc.)

She explains how she overcame her own mental roadblocks in her upcoming book, “Girl, Wash Your Face: Stop Believing the Lies About Who You Are so You Can Become Who You Were Meant to Be,” available for pre-order on Amazon.
