If you are starting to get concerned, as many others are, about the way in which you are affecting the planet in your daily life, then you will be glad to know there are many things you can do to improve upon that.
We are going to take a look at just three of the best and easiest ways to reduce your impact on the planet, so that you can do your bit in helping to improve the state of the world we live in, for ourselves and those who come after us.
Grow Your Own Vegetables
If you are keen on trying to keep your impact low and also make good use of your garden space, then you can simply get into growing your own vegetables. A lot of people avoid this because they don’t know what they’re doing, but you will find that most people actually surprise themselves with just how easy it really is to grow your own veggies. All you need to do is find a good space in your garden – or an allotment, if you can get hold of one – and get hold of some complete greenhouse kits, and start sowing. In no time you will have your own vegetables, and you won’t be relying on veggies that have travelled a long way just to get to your local supermarket. In doing so, you will be reducing your impact on the planet greatly.
Eat Less Meat
If you consider yourself something of a true carnivore this next one might be a little disappointing, but the truth is that there is plenty of research suggesting eliminating meat from your diet is a good idea. The research now also suggests that the single most effective way in which you can reduce your impact on the environment is by reducing the amount of meat you eat. Because eating meat requires a huge amount of land to be used, along with feeding and watering the animals, you will find that you are causing a great amount of damage by eating meat. Reducing your meat consumption even slightly will help to keep the planet going for longer and better your physical health.
Turn Those Machines Off
We are all guilty of leaving machines on overnight, even if it is just a router. But you are causing a lot of damage here which could very easily be avoided. It’s a good idea to make a point of turning everything off when it is not in use. If you can do that, you will find it makes a huge difference to how much of an impact you are having on the planet and even your electric bill.
